Hi! I am Keith Miner of California Daylilies. Our goal here at California Daylilies is to have fun and enjoy the flower we all love, pamper and cherish .......the daylily. But while we are enjoying daylilies, we take the growing, and hybridizing of these plants very seriously. My wife Jennifer and I have been in the retail and wholesale nursery industry for over 25 years and have been avid gardeners for longer. We feel that we have a pulse for what the gardener wants in a daylily, but also, we are in touch with what the collector and other hybridizers want too. We are always on the look out in the seedlings for characteristics that not only improve the look of the flower, but also other characteristics such as: rebloom, scape height, bud count, rust resistance, fragrance etc...
If you like garden performance, then I am sure you will like our CHEESECAKE series of daylilies. These daylilies are bred for not only attractive flowers, but for staying power in the garden. We breed for scapes that separate themselves from the foliage and have high bud count. But the trait we strive for most is rebloom. The backbone for this breeding is RASPBERRY BANANA CHEESECAKE.
RBC has the following qualities; Extra early bloom season, Early morning opener, 30” scapes with 5 way branching and up to 45 buds, Evergreen foliage, and hardy to zone 4. We have two new introductions that have RBC as a parent and both are great rebloomers: CHERRY CUSTARD CHEESECAKE and PLUM FOOLISH. Please try them, you won’t be disappointed.
